A new DIY tutorial.
These are wired cat ears.
Beaded with pearls, beads & crystals
I'm sure you might have noticed that I have
and obsession with cat ears,
and this is such a simple idea to re-create.
Also very cheap&chic (:
Ok, Let's begin!
What I needed:
- A simple metallic/plastic head/alice band
- measuring tape
- pearls, beads&crystals (in at least 3 different sizes!)
- thin craft wire
- clear silicone
I. Fisrt Step:
Measure the wire & cut it.
In this case, the ears are going to be 16cm long,
but I need extra 2cm on each end to secure it later to the headband,
so I cut 22cm of wire.
II. Second Step:
Take your pearls, beads & crystals, and place them the
way you like, just so you can visualize they way
they're going to look, and change/add anything you like.
III. Thirsd Step:
Take 1 piece of wire and slightly bend one of the ends and start beading
in the same other you placed the pearls/beads before!
IV. Fourth Step:
Repeat step 1, 2 &3 for your second Ear (:
V. Fifth Step:
Now take the wire with the pearls and beads
and bend it slightly in the middle to
get a V shape, or a Cat Ear shape.
VI. Sixth Step:
a. Place the V shaped wire next to your headband where you want it to be.
b. Bend one of the ends and make a hook.
c. Wrap ir around the headband and tighten it as firmly as you can.
d. Make sure it ends on the upper side, else you'll sting yourself when you wear your headband.
VII. Seventh Step:
Repeat on the other End.
And with the other Ear.
Glue the ends with clear silicone to the headband so it wont move,
and while it's still wet, take a ribbon and make a knot around it.
cut the ends, or make a bow, depends on what you like.
Wait for the glue to dry, and you're done!
You have a lovely new pearl beaded cat ear headband!
Delicate yet outstanding!
I'd wear it with a simple white/cream lace shirt/dress, for a feminine but daring look (:
